  • Foundational knowledge during the first 2 years. followed by the specialization (major)

Course

English for Academic Purposes course

The EAP course is designed to help Pre-Advanced and Advances level students develop the necessary skills required for academic success in a North American college or university.

Students focus on developing specific academic skills such as note taking, academic writing and reading, and individual presentations and group discussions.

Standard Program

Lessons: 20 lessons per week (15 hours)

Level: Beginner to Advanced

Length: 12 weeks + (depending on language level more weeks are necessary)

12 weeks to complete on level.

Anyone wanting to improve their language ability and those who are interested in college/university studies.

Detailed description:

This program provides students with insight into the language and effective methods of communication. Classes generally finish in the early afternoon so students will still be able to enjoy the majority of their day sightseeing and discovering the city and local culture.

Students take 4 lessons per day from Monday through Friday by starting with the University Pathways Course followed by the Exam Preparation Course:

  • University Pathways course (4 lessons): grammar, phonology, vocabulary, emphasis on communicative methods of learning
  • Exam preparation course (4 lessons): communicative grammar, writing skills, vocabulary, phonography skills, exam preparation.

Intensive Program

Lessons: 30 lessons per week (22,5 hours)

Level: Beginner to Advanced

Length: 12 weeks +

12 weeks to complete on level.

Course suited to:

Anyone wanting to improve their language ability and those who are interested in college/university studies.

Detailed description:

This program is the perfect option for students who want to learn more intensively with the aim of gaining greater fluency and accuracy more quickly.

Students take 6 lessons per day from Monday through Friday by taking all three of the courses listed below:

  • Integrated Skills (2 lessons): communicative grammar, vocabulary, pronounciation and conversational gambits
  • Active Listening (2 lessons): conversation, discussion, debate, slang and idiom usage, presentations
  • Elective (2 lessons): power speaking, communicative grammar, IELTS preparation, business English, pronounciation skills and English for Academic Purposes(EAP)

Super Intensive

Lessons: 40 lessons per week (30 hours)

Level: Beginner to Advanced

Length: 12 weeks +

8 weeks to complete on level.

Course suited to:

Anyone wanting to improve their language ability and those who are interested in college/university studies.

Detailed description:

This is the ideal program for students who really want to challenge themselves academically in their language studies.

Students take 8 lessons per day from Monday through Friday by studying the courses listed below:

  • Integrated Skills (2 lessons): communicative grammar, vocabulary, pronounciation and conversational gambits
  • Active Listening (2 lessons): conversation, discussion, debate, slang and diom usage, presentations
  • Elective (4 lessons): power speaking, communicative grammar and writing, IELTS preparation, writing skills, business English, pronounciation skills, power listening, business English and English for Academic Purposes (EAP)
